What Will We Do If It Rains???

Or not! We had our panties in quite a knot worrying about our Vintage Market A'ffaire getting rained out or blown away. This spring has turned pretty unpredictable with cold weather, wind, rain, hail and then sun and heat. Who knows what the 21st will bring???

So! We've found a perfect spot in downtown Walnut to hold the "A'ffaire" inside! We are excited about this because we will now be able to set everything up the night before and not worry a thing about the weather.

This is good news for all of us! YOU, our dear shoppers, will be able to easily get to the other Walnut shops and our famed bakery!

We hope you are as excited as we are about this.

Only Five and a Half Weeks till the "A'ffaire"!

We only have a little over five weeks until our big day. All three of us have been working to get things in order and ready for our sale. Having it outside in Kathy's yard is a challenge. We are already worried about the weather. Be watching your emails and this blog for information about what to do if its raining. We are just beginning to bat around ideas about what to do about that. Rent tents? Rent a room? Problem with both of those is that the expense rises...which equates to higher prices for you! We are really trying NOT to do that. So, pack an UMBRELLA and wear sensible shoes just in case we decide to weather the storm...if there is one!

Spring is here and Cheryl is getting ready to brighten our "A'ffaire with some floral displays... oh! the ideas that hatch in our pea-brains! It remains to be seen what comes to fruition. It will probably be as much of a surprise to us as to you! Stay tuned!!!

All 3 of us are gathering, picking, and creating for your pleasure. We are working on inviting several guest vendors as well. Thinking maybe even some Farmers Market products...like farm fresh eggs... Nothing set in stone yet, but irons in the fire...Plan on coming early while the pickin's are good!

Light at the End of a Long Cold Tunnel?

Looking out my back door you would never know that spring is supposed to come six weeks early.

BUT soon, the grass will emerge and so will our creativity and our ability to get out and get ready for the next Vintage Market Affaire!

Im sitting at the computer at 7:30 am waiting til 8 when Cheryl and I leave for Omaha for our event. Just about everything is ready and waiting for the 10am opening. We are so excited to be partnering with LeMarche to hold this fun sale and hope many will attend.

Wednesday was a huge day for us, as we spend the entire time getting our things ready for the big Vintage Market A'ffaire to be held on Saturday. We only have two days left til the big event and my back and my brain is tired!

Im posting a few thumbnail pics of some of our areas. We are still tweeking and adding items, but we hope these might whet your appitite. Bring friends!

LeMarche is Calling!!!

Our name is in lights!!! Well, sorta....This is the Countryside Village Marque with our Occasional Sale event posted! We sat at the BookWorm and marveled at the sight!

Then we went to work getting our sale items ready. The day was exhausting for all 3 of us, but we got a start on what we hope will be a ton of fun for everyone who comes!

LeMarche is getting ready too! Their Christmas tree is beautiful in white and gold and all things glittery! New items were coming into the shop as we were working. Tough to keep the drool off the merchandise!

This is one of my favorite displays in LeMarche! The rainbow look on the colored Shamina's is awesome and to use a vintage washtub to display them is right up my alley!

But to work on the lower level we must go...Lots to do and not a lot of time. Pam (right) and Cheryl discuss plans...

Piles of goodies wait to find their final resting place...

At some point this will all look appealing! We promise! Can I just say "we ain't done yet!"

Getting Prepared for our Next Sale!

Pam, Cheryl and I spend Tuesday loading and unloading 3 van loads and a car load of items for our next Vintage Market A'ffaire event! Our next event will be held at LeMarche in Countryside Village in Omaha, NE. LeMarche is the coolest place ever and a perfect place for our winter event.

We had a chance to visit and get to know Melanie and Pat who are the very cool and friendly proprietors of LeMarche. They are delightful and we are all looking forward to working together to have a very special and fun event. Hope to see you there!

First Ever Vintage Market A'ffaire

Our first ever Vintage Market A'ffaire was held on the lawn of Kathy's home in Walnut, Iowa on October 16, 2010. It was a mass of excitement and expectation in the beginning of the day. It was a feeling of accomplishment and success that ended it! ....that and a bowl of turkey chili! It was so fun to spend the day with girlfriends, futz with our "stuff and come away feeling like we couldnt wait until the next sale!

People came! Our biggest fear went unrealized. People came! There were actually many people as some points..and sales were made, which proved to us that we had the eye for things our customers would be looking for and willing to purchase.

So on we go to the next one.
